Trackstar finishes the 2008 Gumball3000 in Las Vegas

The Journey:
Trackstar attended the 10th Anniversary Gumball3000 (www.gumball3000.com) with a host of celebrity members and friends with Tyson Beckford, Orlando Jones and Knight Rider himself "The Hoff" getting into the spirit of things and wearing our custom made Puma/LSE/ Trackstar shirt to show their affiliation.

Lining up in San Francisco for the official starting grid more than 100 of the most amazing cars, driven by film stars, models, athletes and billionaires, the 3 day journey from San Francisco to Los Angeles then on to San Diego to finish in Las Vegas was one of skillful driving and crazy partying.

Trackstar and official partners Lifestyle brand PUMA and LSE Design who manufacture the Range Rover Sport Coupe started proceedings off in San Francisco with Trackstar member Tyson Beckford and new face Orlando Jones behind the wheel.

A brand new Ford Mustang GT was added last minute to the grid which was driven by Trackstar founder Steve Hawthorne and Tom Battaglia (Trackstar Operations Manager). Steve added "To be at Gumball3000 and not driving is simply wrong. I went with good intentions of chilling out in the back of the LSE Coupe, but when I got to the Fairmont Garage where all the cars were being branded up I couldn't resist. Our The Ford Mustang was upgraded with a CB radio to talk with the various truckers along route about the "Smokey's" and a state of the art Police Radar detection system, but both were HONESTLY NEVER USED....hehheehehh what a bash!"

Diary:
San Francisco > Los Angeles 10th August, Diary entry 1:
Well we set off this morning from San Francisco with a police escort to initiate the official start of the Gumball3000 Rally. We were one of the first cars paraded around and to go through the first check point.
Once we were through the traffic it was pedal to the metal. We obviously had to jump the Streets of San Fran in classic movie style before we left the city and once we were out on the highway the radar was turn on, and we were off!!!

Los Angeles > San Diego 11th August, Diary entry 2:
Partied last night at the Roosevelt Hotel with everyone last night. The cars were parked up in Hollywood Bvld where all the bystanders took videos and photos of the cars. We headed to Huntington Beach where all the cars met up for lunch and a group of us including KITT all left together (see clip) to San Diego.. To be chasing K.I.T.T through the California streets and highways was just a surreal experience, I just imagined K.I.T.T doing that "turbo boost" over a truck...hehehe! Got to San Diego where we had a full Police escort into the town center..

San Diego > Las Vegas 12th August, Diary entry 3:
The roof top pool bar at The IVY was the party place last night and although we got about 10 minutes sleep we woke up, showered had a big breakfast and it was a straight drive from San Diego to Las Vegas. Not much to see here but desert so took a couple of pictures through Death Valley. There were many times our radar flagged Police which was a giggle as we darted in behind a long truck as they went past (photo evidence attached as 3 Police were tracking us). Las Vegas was as usual the party place it is known for. We got the The Hard Rock Hotel which welcomed the Gumballers in proper fashion, and as a deserved treat and to beat the heat, everyone headed down to the famous Rehab Pool Bar for a cool-off and well earned drink! We all partied the Wasted Space in the HRH but as we were in Vegas we partied at many other locations which will not be named to save the reputation of the many that joined us!

Gumball 2009:
Trackstar-Racing will be fielding a new team in the 2009 Gumball3000 which is going to be from Los Angeles to Miami starting end of April through first week of May 2009. With check-points and parties on route in Las Vegas, Santa Fe, Dallas, and New Orleans we hope you can join us as a 2009 partner !!!!
